Match day 1
Conturso & Taylor visit the Silva Brothers to flick off the 6th State League. Waiting for the title
holder, Miguel Marques to start his campaign, JT gets the early lead as he stays undefeated
against big fish Lou Silva in the Opener. He then comes out alive from the Founders Derby and
claims first win against a distracted Frank Silva. In the other big match, Massimo edges Luis with a
lucky shot after an open and exciting game.

Match day 2
Ostap Mishtal begins his campaign with two losses against co-founders Taylor & Conturso in an
unusual Bloomfield meeting. The young Ukrainian holds well in both first halves, but experience
pays off for the two seniors.

Match day 3
In the first massive session of the season that saw 5 players flicking off their league schedule,
Taylor gives up the lead to Conturso after a 2-1 loss to Eddie, while the Italian goes 3-for-3.
Taylor has now only 2 matches left to complete his first round and was undefeated against last
season's top 4.
Title holder, Miguel Marques outscores the Davidsons 7-0, but loses the family trophy (
+) in
overtime to Rick, who follows up with a not brilliant league performance.
In the table's bottom half, Mishtal & Eylward stay scoreless and winless, while Jeff does well
against his fellow U19s. An enigmatic Eddie Davidson takes a double 4-0 loss to Marques Sr &
Conturso to start his campaign, only to deliver an upsetting comeback to Taylor in a NE VPs
face-off.

Match day 4
Flat meeting in Wallingford, after various pull-offs before & during the session. Conturso keeps on
leading, while Eddie Davidson beats Rick Marques and wins his group in State Cup's action (
+).
For the young Marques, 5th point in 5 games and 5th place.

Match day 5
Eddie-D keeps on climbing. After hosting a double win session, the regional VP jumps over Jim
Taylor and clinches second place, while the Portuguese clan takes a break.

Match day 6
Double step ahead for Luis Silva, who scores 8 goals, claims 6 points and becomes the 3rd force
on the table. He also successfully flicks off his State Cup campaign with a 3-0 win over Mishtal.
Frank Silva comes back to action and earns 4 points on the FHS duo, but falls to top 2, Conturso
(who receives his first league goals) and Eddie Davidson, who's stable at 2nd place.
Still scoreless Mishtal, who keeps on switching bases..

Match day 7
Ostap sticks to his Sureshots bases and takes the lead after 1 minute for his first League goal.
Luis replies quickly and in 40 seconds the ball is in the net for the 1-1 (at the break).
The Ukrainian excises a good ball possession, but experience pays off for Silva in the 2nd half.

Match day 8
In a 9-player meeting, title holder, Miguel Marques gets back on track and jumps to 2nd place by
defeating State title contenders, Luis Silva & Massimo Conturso (at his first loss of the season).
Rick Marques takes on the youngsters, Davidson & Eylward, while Ostap Mishtal keeps on
improving. The Ukrainian wins his first match and leaves the bottom of the table to a distracted
Mike Eylward. Jeff Davidson and Jim Taylor confirm their trend and cancel each other in an
anonymous scoreless match.

Match day 9
Rick jumps back in 5th place to leave JT behind, while Miguel claims his 4th straight win with a
tennis-like score to Mike Eylward. The title holder has now +20 goal differential, best attack (22)
and best defense (2) of the tournament.

Match day 10
In the 2nd largest league meeting of the season, the 2nd round flicks off as the State Champion
stays undefeated, but suffers another draw with a positive Jim Taylor, who also gets revenge for
his 1st round loss to Eddie Davidson.
While Conturso consolidates his leadership with 9 more points, Rick Marques wins 3, scores 8 and
leaps to a more appropriate 3rd place.
The Davidsons have similar outcomes with different approaches. Jeff shares points with fellow
class mate, Ostap Mishtal, and limits Miguel & Massimo to one-goal matches. Eddie loses to JT and
Rick, two opponents he defeated in 1st round, and extends his winless streak to 5 games.
Former East Coast top U19 player, Mike Eylward seems to have lost his mojo as he remains
without wins after 9 games. Mike keeps on relying on his opponents' mistakes and has the
tendency to give up once the match turns negative. A new game plan seems necessary.

Match day 11
Spotlights on the Silva Brothers, back in action after several weeks, and Mike Eylward.
While Frank & Luis look a bit rusty and in need of a subbuteo full re-immersion, Mikelele bounces
back with style by earning 7 points out of 9. He opens the dances with an upsetting scoreless
draw with Luis Silva, then he tackles down Frank with a 2-0 win. The cherry on the cake is a 3-1
over Ostap Mishtal, to whom Mike happily leaves the last place.

To register also the unanimous approval of a playoff format change that will bring more
excitement in both the Regular and Post Season. With the institution of two separate playoff
tournaments, the traditional summer appointment will surely grab the attention of all the players,
and not only of those who are in the State title race.

Match day 12
In the league session before the Virginia road trip, Conturso is sidelined by a shoulder injury and
ranks are a bit shook up after the 6 matches played in Wallingford.
Eddie Davidson looks on fire as he defeats Jeff 3-0 and Miguel Marques 4-2 in a friendly.
But Mig bounces back and wins his 6th Marques Cup, 2nd family title for the Portuguese in a
month, in which he also claimed two ASA Opens and the North Atlantic Challenge Cup.
JT wins a huge one as he defeats Lou Silva and he's now the 4th force on the table.

Match day 13
Thirteen is definitely not Frank Silva's number. On Friday the 13th, on the League's 13th match
day, Frank has a frustrating 3-game session as he goes 0-for-3 and gets relegated to the last
place by an inspired Ostap Mishtal.
Also played today: 78th Challenge Cup (+)

Match day 14
The regular season is reaching an end, not without thrills.
With most of the position for the July 7's playoffs already filled, the attention is all on Luis Silva's
attempt of qualifying for the Championship bracket. On his way stands Eddie Davidson, who's
having a great run in the League. The show down between the two contenders ends in a 1-1
tie that surely makes Eddie happy. But Lou doesn't lose any points in the night as he gets rid of
Mishtal (5-0) and draws (0-0) with Rick Marques. Silva has now two matches against his brother
Frank and his cousing Miguel to earn the necessary 3 points to make it in the top 5 as he has a
considerably better GD than Davidson.

Match day 15
The Pennant race gets hot and will be decided with the last game of the season, the
Miguel-Massimo head-to-head. The two national champions have 2 games left to play each, with
the Portuguese favorite as he carries a 1-point advantage and a better goal differential.
Luis Silva misses his first chance to buy a ticket for the big event, but he could make it by beating
last-place Frank Silva.

Match day 16
For the third consecutive time, Miguel Marques wins the CT State League's Regular Season.
The Portuguese beats Frank Silva 4-0 and thanks Jim Taylor for blocking Massimo Conturso on a
scoreless match to preserve a 3-point lead.
The following Italian Portuguese head-to-head ends with a 3-0 Conturso win that levels the
points (45 each in 18 games), but nothing does for the GD contest that Miguel easily wins +42
to +33.
