* Although this was not an official League
format, the League Friday #10 has been
homologated.
West Haven, CT
While the US Nationals in Idaho [link] were
overall ungenerous with surprises, some
striking results came out of the
Connecticut's 10th League Friday.
Luis Silva won his first league event with a
rolling shot that chipped over Jim Taylor's
goalie at 3 seconds from the OT final beep.
In the final round, Taylor and Silva both
defeated 2-0 Ostap Mishtal, at his first club
appereance since March 7th, and faced off
in a dead-even situation that turned to
Lou's favor when the shootouts seemed
irrevocable. The 31 minute game was the
best of the night, and Jim applied a good
possession that generated only a few
fruitless shots.
The other star of the night was Ostap.
Coming back after a 4-month iatus, the
young Ukrainian staged a big upset as he
tied the table leader Massimo Conturso 1-1,
and beat him on goal differential having
scored one more goal to Pat Ciccarelli.
Conturso missed a great chance to move his
rankings and to cement his primacy in a club
meeting that was missing Top-3 players,
Marques Brothers, Miguel & Rick.

game against Luis Silva.
Ostap, a giant.
