The League event # 7 breaks the 3-way
balance as Rick Marques clinches his 3rd
win of the season, while his brother
Miguel and Massimo Conturso stay at 2.
Rick claimed 9 points after a shutout
performance that reached the top in the
last game against Conturso. The Italian
made the mental mistake to sit back as a
stalemate would have been enough to
win for better GD. Also, his lead in the
League was already secured as Miguel
Marques stumbled on an unlucky draw
and finished 7th. In the virtual final, Rick
showed to be hungrier than his
opponent, and his gutsy siege at
Massimo's box paid off 5 minutes to time
with a goal on corner kick action.
Rick is also to be praised for his teaching
role during the qualifier as he faced
newcomer Pat Ciccarelli and U12 Frankie
Silva. Pat played subbuteo once or twice
many years ago and, invited by his friend
& colleague Luis Silva, was quickly
engaged by the competition and
managed a 1-0 win over Frankie at the
buzzer!
Meanwhile, as he's getting ready to join
his dad Eddie in Alabama, Jeff Davidson
finds also the time to reach his 2nd
straight podium.
