7th League Friday
March 7, 2008 in Wallingford
Wallingford, Conn.

In the League Friday with the lowest
attendance so far (5 players), the big news
was Jim Taylor's comeback into some flicking
action. Taylor's last appereance was dated
January 4th and, with the America Cup
approaching, the Scotsman needed to put a
few games under his belt.

JT didn't exactly set the world on fire.

He lost 3 games in a row, 0-2 Miguel, 0-1
Ostap, 0-1 Massimo, before saving his Friday
with a 4-0 win over Jeff Davidson to claim
3rd place behind the Massimo-Miguel duo.
This below average performance should
sound like a wakeup call for Jim, who
committed himself to a more regular
attendance and to a shot to the State title.

The young Davidson & Mishtal had their
moments of glory and battled Taylor for the
podium. Jeff was the unfortunate
protagonist of an own goal on a defensive
flick against Miguel, while Ostap delivered
the upset of the night by beating JT with a
..tayloresque performance made of slow
pace and precise flicks.

Massimo & Miguel were the announced main
characters of the meeting and their
head-to-head resulted into a goal differential
win for the Portuguese, who now follows in
2nd place 2 points behind the Italian.
