FISTF America Cup & Kitchen Pass Night
2008 Saint Patrick's weekend in Virginia & Tennessee
Alexandria, VA
The streak is over.
The Maryland club, showing up in a new
yellow bumblebee jersey, came buzzing loud
and stung hard to take home the inaugural
America Cup.
"Aerodynamically, the bumblebee shouldn't
be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't
know it so it goes on flying anyway".
That's the principle that moved the young
yellow team as they were coming off a
losing streak against SCC that lasted since
December 1, 2006 when they defeated the
All-Blacks for the last time (3rd Old Firm).
SCC stormed thru the Group Stage and took
full points out of 4 unequivocal wins against
Maryland, Sporting, Washington and
Patapsco.
But the final was a different story as Paul
Eyes got all the matchups right, and Daniel
Cranston delivered an upset by crashing
Conturso 3-0 after an almost perfect
performance.
Maryland resulted the winner of the
competition as they also claimed the U19
title with Cranston, and the Veterans with
Eyes.
Zach Walker of Sporting America was the
expected winner of the individual Open (3-0
over Sheridan in the final) after SCC
Conturso & Miguel Marques bowed out in
the Semifinals.

Not our typical weekend...
Chattanooga, TN
Our champion for this Saint Patrick's
weekend was, without a doubt, Eddie
Davidson from Huntsville, Alabama.
Eddie just relocated to the South, but has
already proved to be able to compete for
the supremacy in the region.
His contagious presence also brought a
brand new energy, and talks about leagues
& tournaments have started immediately.
