As their club mates often look uninterested
or simply busy with family & work,
Massimo Conturso & Miguel Marques keep
carrying the SCC banner with passion and
commitment.
Being the only two club members to have
ever lifted the State Championship
Trophy, they created an elite competition,
the Champions Series, whose inaugural
edition was also valid as 4th chapter of the
Salem-founded Halloween Cup.
Massimo was the undeserved winner of the
first Series and retained the
Jack-o-lantern Trophy after the shootouts
were necessary to break the easily
foreseeable balance. Despite the 2-2
deadlock, Miguel looked much sharper but
his shots were inaccurate and unlucky,
and Massimo claimed victory in the
echoing sound of reverberating posts.
