For the first time in club history, the State
Championships have a single winner.
After approaching the first PD club meeting of the
season with the State Cup already on his shelf,
Massimo Conturso took home Shootout Derby,
League and Super Cup to complete the Treble and
to sweep the season.

To be a 6-player event, the Super Sunday offered
many interesting stories. For a few hours, it looked
like Sergio Sensini was going to return to action
after a 2-year hiatus. But the Milan born was
sidelined by a flu bug and his return on the
subbuteo scene postponed.

Another notable absent was certainly Jim Taylor. JT
was not on the Sunday schedule because of work,
but he unexpectedly missed last Friday's Playoffs
showdown and forfeited the semifinal against
Conturso..

On the other hand, those present played quality
games for 5 straight hours.
Jeff Davidson was back in the pack after his recent
health issues and attended the Shootout Derby.
Rick Marques won his 2nd League event of the
season and jumped to 3rd place, behind the
Miguel-Massimo duo. Impressive is Rick's point
average so far: 8.6 after 2 first places and 1 second
place.

Alabama-bound Eddie Davidson passed his ASA VP
duties to club mate Massimo Conturso. The Italian
will take over on Friday, February 1st.
Like this burden wasn't enough, Eddie nailed down
Massimo to a scoreless match that prevented the
Italian to fight for the League Sunday win.
