CHALLENGE CUP
Welcome home, Jim!
In the last day of the Summer--that felt like the first--the CTSC gave the welcome back to Jim Taylor in his first appearence after his
European tour. He loves to travel for business (read: Subbuteo) and all the times he comes back with something more. This time,
he came back with more speed in his flicking and a new attitude: Massimo had really hard time with him tonight. He came back with
crazy stories about the world of professional Subbuteo, too: people almost fist-fighting for a ref's call; teams paying thousands of
dollars $$$$ per year to have the best players competing on their side. Nothing like that belongs to us, who--silly--still believe that
this is a game ..the best game on Earth.
Tonight's Challenge Cup saw the Italian's victory over the talented Mr. Taylor (2-0). Massimo was inspired by today's Vieri's goal (in
Reggina-Inter 1-2) and scored pretty goals on the far post. He tried to equalize his own record of 10-0, but Jeff was in a good
goalie mood and stopped him on a 6-0 score. Eddie--who's much better with his ankle--is looking around for a new house: that tells
us that there are good chances to see him in charge of the Connecticut Wolves once again in the next season. Yes, life is good.
Miguel Marques was in Philadelphia this weekend. We hope to see him back next Thursday.
