XXIV  CHALLENGE CUP
January 17, 2003
Wallingford, CT

"Oops, I did it again", Miguel seems to sing in the picture while he's
holding the Challenge Cup for the 3rd time!
The Portuguese seems to have found the right strategy to disarm
Massimo and bring him to the shoot-outs lottery. In fact, for the second
straight competition, the Italian literally bounced on Miguel's defensive
wall and found himself disable to capitalize the Group Stage's perfect
record of 4-0-0, 22-0 on goals. Tonight's tournament was played in
Wallingford in Miguel & Jennifer's new house. Since no women were
present, the night became soon a sort of Bachelor Subbuteo Party, with
excellent pizza from "Serafino", beer, soda and, of course, the green
pitches!
Miguel's younger brother, Rick, had his "initiation" in our club and had an
amazing night: ties against the Davidsons and three goals scored in the
incredible first half against his big brother! It looked like he had lot of fun
and we all hope to see him again next week, as well as club's 3
"desaparecidos": Taylor, Bak and Sullivan.
The amazing Jeff Davidson claimed his own spot light tonight when he
defeated his father Eddie 2-0, tied Rick 0-0 and achieved his best result
ever: 3rd place!
