The Italian strikes back!
In a hot summer night, Massimo Conturso took the Cup back after a perfect
tournament: 5 games, 5 wins, 17 goals-for, 0 goals-against! He crashed the
Davidsons with a double 4-0, took a sweet revenge over Miguel Marques (4-0)
and passed over Jim Taylor twice (2-0, 3-0 in the Final).
The Portuguese, proud Cup's keeper in the past week, wasn't in his best shape.
He lost the classic head-to-head against Taylor (0-1), he didn't go over a scoreless
game against Eddie and lost his chances to play the final in the 0-4 against
Massimo.
On the other hand, Jim Taylor played an excellent tournament and earned the
right to play the Challenge, first time since March 29th. The Davidsons played a
great match against each other and Eddie was in the spotlight when he tied
scoreless against the Cup's keeper in the third round.
Tomorrow, the Connecticut Table Soccer Club will be at the Veterans Memorial
Stadium of New Britain for a Subbuteo public exhibition before the D3 soccer
match between Connecticut Wolves and Long Island Rough Riders.
Stay tuned for more!
