THE MATRIX
It was an incredible night, here in Farmington, Connecticut, where the Canadian winds brought
some cool air and great news. The first edition of the Connecticut Cup is around the corner: only 12
days are left to the historical kick off. The New Yorkers Jimmy and Manny confirmed their presence
in a competition that will be an ASA event starting from August 2003.
Tonight, Massimo Conturso won his fourth straight title. He defeated Miguel Marques in a battled
final that saw its end at the 2nd minute extra time, when the Italian slammed a rocket from his own
penalty area and sent the ball in the lower corner. It was a perfect conclusion to a perfect
competition.
The Qualifying Round was something unbelievable, with 4 players in 4 points in the final standings,
the Davidsons in great shape, Massimo blocked by both Jim and Miguel and goal differentials
needed to determine the Challenger.
