| THE 2002 PATRIOT CUP (an Independence Day version of our Challenge Cup) |
| July 5, 2002 In a very humid night, without Jim Taylor (at the Yankee Stadium..) and Miguel Marques (in "family duty"), the Davidsons gave prove of their grown skills. Historical has been Jeff's win over his father Eddie at the shoot-outs. But Big Easy Eddie can certainly be proud of his flicking night. After a victory over Jeff in the qualifying group (1-0), he beat him again in the play-off (2-0 at shoot-out), earning the right to challenge the undefeated Italian. The Final was absolutely perfect for Davidson Sr. He played well in every part of the pitch, forcing Massimo scoreless to overtime. Eddie almost made it to his 3rd shoot-out of the night when the Italian, with a fast move and 40 seconds left, found the net with a shot on the far post. |
