First of all, congratulations to the US Men's National Soccer Team for the epic game against Mexico in
the FIFA World Cup. The coach Arena and his guys are making everyone very proud to be a soccer fan
in USA, despite what the media (..in particular that ESPN Radio AM 1410) have to say. About our weekly
Subbuteo night, Massimo Conturso confirmed himself as Club's top player, defeating Miguel Marques
3-0 (1-0; 4-0; 4-0) in the World Series. The Portuguese played an excellent first game, before some
Korean ghosts came to his mind, making him too static in defense in 2nd/3rd game.
(Updating after
Korea-Italy: he's not going to be the only one terrorized by "that kind" of ghosts..)
The big surprise came actually from the Play-Outs, where Eddie Davidson seems to have found a
special rivalry against Jim Taylor. After having denied to Jim the chance to play the World Series,
Eddie beat him 2-1 at the shoot-outs in an extremely intense match (Jim's goal not allowed for offside;
double woodwork hit by Taylor in overtime with 90 seconds left).
