| Happy 50th, Old Lady! The Oldest Connecticut's Subbuteo competition arrived to the "golden" edition and, despite the new season's format may put her in a side position, conquering her will always be an exciting adventure. This time, current State Champion, Miguel Marques had the pleasure as he edged out Conturso for a deserved back-2-back. Five the contenders for the 50th: Rick Marques, Eddie Davidson (the other two semifinalists) and Luis Silva completed the roster. The Group Stage saw a natural balance between players with relatively low scores as the average 1.8 goals per match proved. Of the 18 goals in Group Stage, 8 belonged to a single match: Rick Marques defeated Luis Silva 5-3 in a true festival of goals in Round Four. On the other hand, Miguel and Massimo--with Profi C5 for the first time--played a total of 50 minutes (20 in Group Stage + 30 in the Final) without a single goal, although a couple of shots from the Italian hit the post and dangerously danced on the goal line. Also, Eddie Davidson reached the semifinals by defeating Conturso for the first time ever. Eddie had an excellent first half and, with a sharp possession, kept troubles away. After the break, the Italian hit twice the crossbar and, just when the victory looked on its way, received Davidson's great goal on a medium distance shot that chipped the ball over the keeper's rod on the close post.
