Outstanding night for Jeff Davidson
The Farmington youngster qualified to the
State League Quarter Finals for the first time
after a 1-0 win over FHS class mate, Ostap
"Professor" Mishtal (photo above).
He also shocked the 73rd Challenge Cup
when he won the group of death that
included his father, Eddie (0-0) and 9th ASA
NE Championship winner, Luis Silva. Lou was
defeated 2-1 with a last second goal.
Once in his 2nd final, Jeff displayed great
defensive skills with flicks right on the
money, and took the lead with 5 seconds to
the break.
The 1-0 score stood until 2:40 to time,
when Conturso, at his 60th final, found the
lower corner with a cut shot.
In OT, the match was decided by another
cut ball, from long distance this time, that
Jeff unfortunately pulled in the net for
Massimo's 50th title.
