Set on putting behind them the shame of a
non-SCC title holder, Miguel, Massimo & Jim
got together for Cup 99.

In Connecticut, tables are taller and goalies
are bigger, and only one goal was scored in
72 minutes of play. It came from a lucky
bounce between the post and Jim's goalie
in his last Matches stage's game against
Massimo.
Overall, the 3 All-Blacks looked like they had
a hangover from the previous weekend's CT
Cup. Jim seemed more deliberate than usual
in his flicking, while both Miguel & Massimo
were impatient and hasty.
To the rescue came an intense Shootouts
stage and a couple of controversies that
boosted the level of excitement in the club
house.

Miguel clinched his 5th consecutive final but,
like in the previous two, it was his
opponent, Massimo this time, to claim the
title after a thrilling match that once again
enhanced their goalkeeping ability and the
sturdiness of the goals' frame.
