One of the most exciting weeks in
recent times came to an end on Friday
night in Wallingford, where 4 of Spirit
of 2001 Award's top 5 got together.
Miguel & Massimo were joined by Luis,
who resumed playing after a 2-month
break, and by -drum roll please!- Jim
Taylor at his first Subbuteo action in 8
months.
Jim paid for his long inactivity with a
0-1-3 record, but showed signs of
renewed enthusiasm that the relax
atmosphere in the clubhouse hopefully
helped to recharge.
However, the award of comeback of the
year has to be assigned to the Greek
cousins from the City. Demetri &
Manny surprised American Subbuteo
with the birth of the first NYC club, a
new logo and the promise to attend the
ASA Connecticut State Championship
in program in Wallingford in two weeks.
With already several entries in the
players list, the tournament promises
to be the best meeting of SCC season.
