2007 ASA North East Masters & FISTF Satellite
November 10-11, 2007 in Farmington, CT
Farmington, Conn.

"Ka mate! Ka mate! Ka ora! Ka mate! Ka mate! Ka ora!"

The All-Blacks Haka echoes all over New England's valleys as the SCC takes all honours in Farmington.

First and foremost, many thanks to the Maryland SC for making the trip for the Fall Classic that saw the attendance
going from 18 in 2005 and 15 in 2006 to 10 in 2007. Despite the low number of participants (all belonging to the
Old Firm), the competitions resulted top quality for a very exciting weekend.

Miguel Marques was sharp on Saturday and claimed the 2007 NEMO with a dramatic 2-1 OT win over Sheridan. It
was Miguel's 5th ASA title and his 2nd Master after the win in the inaugural edition of 2004. The Portuguese
brought back the title in CT after Zach Walker's brace of 2005-06.

In the same day, the All-Blacks pulled off a
Liverpool as they completed their comeback from 0-3 titles in the North
Atlantic Team Challenge. Great merit goes to Jim Taylor as he was asked the hard task to hold MSC captain, Paul
Eyes. With Marques (1-1) & Conturso (2-1 win) struggling against Maryland's young guns, Cranston & Sheridan, JT
staged a gutsy performance to earn a 1-1 draw. (
Old Firm)

On Sunday, the SCC hosted the 2nd ever FISTF competition in CT after the 2004 International Open, when
Stephane Lambert from Belgium enriched an already strong field. Like in 2004, Massimo Conturso resulted the
winner after an impressive (and unusual) display of shooting as well as luck. The Italian miraculously escaped from a
series of threats by Paul Eyes in group stage and Daniel Cranston in the semifinals, before cruising to the title with a
5-0 win over Sheridan.
